THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS

OF RADNOR TOWNSHIP

LWV HISTORY

The League of Women Voters was organized in 1920 as an outgrowth of the effort to secure voting rights for women.  The League was formed by Carrie Chapman Catt and others in order to assist women in exercising this precious right and to study issues of public interest, come to a consensus on a position and to take the necessary action. This mission now extends to all citizens in the ongoing effort to make democracy work.

Men are welcomed as members in the League even though its name reflects its historical origins. Radnor Township was among the first areas to have a local chapter of the League of Women Voters.
